Concrete Pastures Podcast
The word immigrant to so many like me, it signifies someone with a dream; a dreamer. I am Nancy Mulemwa Siisii. I was born and raised in Zambia, Africa, but I later migrated to America and settled in New York where I’ve been living for 20 years. As a dreamer, I have and continue to have a passion for making substantive bonds with audiences, and helping to inspire people to reach for their dreams. Being an immigrant has been one of the most challenging and extraordinary experiences of my life. It inspired me to start my podcast “Concrete Pastures: An African Immigrant Story” as a platform to reach out to fellow immigrants and dreamers.

Life insurance can help give financial freedom to your family. It can also assist in paying for funeral expenses, paying off some bills, if any, and making life a little easier.
Our guest is an advocate of life insurance and understands its importance.

S1 Ep13 Monde Zama How do you describe yourself as a person/immigrant
Monday May 30, 2022
Monday May 30, 2022
No matter what part of the world you find yourself in, being an immigrant can be challenging. When Monde first arrived in London, settling in wasn’t easy due to constantly having to explain her accent and who she was as a black girl.
Monde’s upbringing and academic levels become draining. This somewhat forced her to create a whole different personality to fit in.
How do you identify yourself, if you are considered not African enough or British enough?

S1 Ep12 Chulu Chansa Homecoming
Tuesday May 24, 2022
Tuesday May 24, 2022
The saying there is no place like home rings true to a lot of us immigrants. Nearly all of us in the diaspora want to one day settle back in our home countries. But when that time comes, what would your professional livelihood look like? Are you intentional with your networking? Is your current business a global one?
Chulu, first lived in the UK for two years as a student. She moved to the US for 5 years to study and then worked for one year. She did a stint in Spain for 6 months and then, came back to Zambia and faced many challenges. She had to start from the bottom, and was homeless, she had no network, and she was a single mother
Chulu moved back to her home country after being an immigrant for seven years.
From Zambia to the UK to the US to Spain and then back to Zambia
Chulu is a writer of modern African culture & lifestyle. She is also the host of the Africana Woman podcast. She is a transformational speaker and mentor who currently resides in Zambia and is the proud mother of a teenage boy. For many years Chulu experienced success in her career, however she fell short in her personal life. Eventually she managed to transform her lifestyle and now lives by the principle, K.N.O.W. your Roots, Grow your Purpose. KNOW stands for Knowledge, Nourishment, Operate in Obedience, and Weakness. As a result, Chulu is on a mission to ensure African women that they can create generational wealth from a place of holistic health mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically.
